    Eston Hornbuckle, 89, of Highland, IL, died Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at Relais Bonne Eau, Edwardsville, IL.

    Eston was born April 12, 1926, to Cecil and Rachael (Nee Pittman) Hornbuckle in Bismarck, IL. He married Shirley A. Ragen in 1954.

    He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and fought in W. W. II.  He was a member of V F W Post 5694, Highland, IL.  He worked for 57 years at Cerro Copper in the Maintenance Department while also farming and selling Real Estate in Cahokia, IL.  Eston enjoyed the St. Louis Cardinals and being in the “Country” hanging out and relaxing around his property.  He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Rachael Hornbuckle; wife, Shirley Hornbuckle; brother, Derry Hornbuckle.

    Eston is survived by his children, Tom (Dawn) Hornbuckle, St. Charles, MO, Pam (Marvin) Frey, Highland, IL, Paula (Mike) Scott, Ballwin, MO; grandchildren, Nicole (Terry) Rode, Jessica (Ryan) Basye, Eric (Kandace) Ortiz, Danielle Hornbuckle, Dillon Hornbuckle, Stacy (Dave) Sapienza, Samantha (Jonathan) Jordan; great-grandchildren, Blake Rode, Addison Rode, Molly Basye, Mason Basye, Alex Ortiz, Nathan Ortiz, Jacob Ortiz, Michael Sapienza, Shaun Sapienza, Jonathan Jordan, Luke Jordan, Ellie Jordan; sister, Fedra (Fred) Wilson; nieces and nephews.

    Memorials may be made to Relais Bonne Eau.

    Visitation: Thursday, May 21, 2015, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, IL.

    Graveside Service: Friday, May 22, 2015, at 9:30 am at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis

    Clergy: Rev. Beverly Wilkes-Null, Pastor, Highland Hope United Methodist Church, Highland, IL.

    Interment: Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
