    Charles “Dutch” Wallin, 84, of Lebanon, IL, born December 29, 1928, in Lebanon, IL, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2013 at his residence.

    Dutch was retired from civil service work, after 35 years of dedicated service, at Scott Air Force Base, IL. Following his retirement he worked for St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lebanon, IL, where he was a lifetime member. He was a member of the Beautification Committee in Lebanon, the Men’s Club at St. Joseph Church, Ducks Unlimited, National Wild Life Turkey Federation, The Illinois Rabbit Breeders Association and The National Rifle Association.

    He proudly served his country with the United States Nave for 4 years, which he spent on USS Antietam and the USS Shangrila.

    Dutch enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, gardening and raising rabbits. He loved spending time with his grandkids and family.

    Dutch was preceded in death by his parents Ola and Anna (Nee Voss) Wallin; 1 brother, Robert Wallin; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herman and Clara (Nee Isaak) Kuhl; sisters-in-law, Jackie Kuhl, Catherine Ternoir; brother-in-law, Wes Ternoir.

    Surviving are his wife Genevieve “Jenny” (Nee Kuhl) Wallin, whom he married Oct. 20, 1956 at St. Anthony’s Church in Beckemeyer, IL; 1 daughter, Kathy (Larry) Faust, Breese, IL; 1 son, Tom (Judy) Wallin, Mascoutah, IL; 2 grandsons, Tyler and Ryley Wallin, Mascoutah, IL; brother-in-law, Paul Kuhl, Bridgeton, MO; 2 sisters-in-law, Joan (Bill) Warren, Carlyle, IL, Vicky Wallin, Florida; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

    Memorials may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), St. Joseph Catholic Church or Hospice of Southern Illinois.

    Visitation: Wednesday, February 13, 2013, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and Thursday, February 14, 2013 from 8:00 to 10:30 am at Meyer Funeral Home, Lebanon, IL.

    Mass of Christian Burial: Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lebanon, IL.
