Virginia E. Hogg, 97, of Aviston, IL, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese, IL.

She was born on June 14, 1926, in Collinsville, IL to Vincenzo and Mildred (nee Body) Messina. Virginia married Roy B. Evans in Collinsville, IL on August 31, 1947, and they were married for 38 years. In 1991, she married Andrew Hogg in Lebanon, IL, and they were married for 7 years.

Virginia has been in this area since 1987, when she moved from Collinsville. She was an avid traveler, having been to France, Alaska, Rome, and Hawaii. Virginia loved watching tennis and loved the St. Louis Cardinals.

She was preceded in death by her spouses, Roy B. Evans and Andrew Hogg; parents, Vincenzo “Charley” and Mildred Messina; stepchild, John Hogg; siblings, Josephine Henson, Tony Messina, June McCabe, and Vincent Messina.

Virginia is survived by her children, Roy (Kathy) Evans and Debbie (Ron) Trame; grandchildren, Chrystal (Chuck) Sergent, Kimberly (Jeremy) Alexander, Troy Evans, Katherine (Chris) Johnson, Angie Gibson; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Evan Sergent, Paige and Lucy Alexander; stepchildren, Andrew Hogg Jr., Joan Case, Gail Hogg, Joseph Hogg, Ann (OJ) Prestenbach, Linda (Bob) Chaney, Susan Brown, Carol (Thomas) Lawson; and their grandchildren and greatgrandchildren; brother, Melvin (Shirley) Messina, and numerous nieces and nephews.
