    Vickie Diane Reed, 71, of Collinsville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.

    She was born on April 6, 1952, in East St. Louis, IL, to Jesse and Ella (nee Davis) McCall. On April 14, 1973, she married the love of her life, Michael Reed, in the front room of her parent’s house in Collinsville, IL.

    Vickie loved her family dearly, she enjoyed spending time with her husband going on little dates to the zoo, especially playing penny slots at the Casino Queen or River City Casino. She also liked frequenting the Fireman’s Hall in Collinsville to play bingo. She was a stern matriarch of her family but also kind. She was a treasured wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Ella McCall.

    Vickie is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Michael Reed; son, Kenneth Michael Reed; grandchildren, Aiden Michael Smith-Reed, Delilah Reed; sisters, Carolyn Bell, Debbie Hamilton; nieces, nephews, and many loving friends.

    Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

    Visitation: Monday, October 23, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Tuesday, October 24, 2023, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, at Kassly-Meridith Funeral Home in Collinsville, IL.

    Funeral Service: Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at 10:00 AM, Kassly-Meridith Funeral Home, Collinsville, IL.

    Clergy: Pastor Ron Habermehl

    Interment: St. John’s Cemetery, Collinsville, IL.

    Mike and Kenny there.are really no words that can express how you are feeling right now. Please know that I am praying for you and you family as you walk through this valley. May the Holy Spirit comfort you and give you peace in your hearts. Vickie is in total peace and we will see her again.
