Veronica M. “Ronnie” Reidelberger (nee Rehkemper), 92, of Highland, IL, died Friday, April 1, 2011, at St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, MO.
Ronnie was born August 22, 1918 to Henry and Annie (nee Schoenafeld) Rehkemper at home in St. Rose, IL. On September 12, 1945 she married Joseph Edward Reidelberger at St. Paul Church, Highland, IL.
Ronnie was a member of St. Paul Church, Highland, IL, and St. Ann’s Altar Society, Highland, IL. She was a committed supporter of Our Lady of the Snows Shrine, Belleville, IL.
Ronnie was dedicated to her family; her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a single mother raising her 5 children by herself, sometimes working multiple jobs at a time to support them. She loved the Cardinals, playing Bingo, quilting, and playing cards and watching game show network. She went to Church every opportunity she had.
She is survived by her 5 children, Jerry T. (Jeanne) Reidelberger, Larry (Phyllis) Reidelberger, Joe (Diane) Reidelberger, Pat (Ray) Korte, Robert F. (special friend Janelle Schrumpf) Reidelberger, all of Highland, IL; 14 grandchildren, Joseph, Janelle, Karen, Chandra, Jenna, Gary, JoAnn, Tammy, Tim, Chris, Jerald, Kim, Bobby, Terrisa; 25 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Minnie (Paul) Uhring; 1 brother, Ferdinand (Mary) Rehkemper; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Annie Rehkemper; her husband, Joseph Edward Reidelberger, December 9, 1958; 3 sisters and 1 brother, Regina Klostermann, Ed Rehkemper, Josephine Schlepper, and Elizabeth Holtgrave.
Memorials may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society or Masses.
Visitation: Monday, April 4, 2011 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Tuesday, April 5, 2011 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, IL.
Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, April 5, 2011 12:00 p.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL.
