Susanne R. "Woody" Mitchell, nee Wooden, 72 of Lebanon, IL died November 16, 2008 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Belleville, IL. She was born April 26, 1936 to Russell L. and Erma (Smith) Wooden and on October 26, 1954, she married Richard A. Mitchell in Fairfield, California.
She is survived by her husband, Richard A. Mitchell of Lebanon, IL; three children, Robin (Jim) Brennan, Trenton, IL: Ronald A. Mitchell, Lebanon, IL; Ronda (Jon) Milam, Colorado Springs, CO; three granddaughters - Rebecca (Noel) Lesinski, Virginia Beach, VA; Julie Milam, Fredrickburg, VA; and Rachael Milam, Colorado Springs, CO.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sons, Richard A. Mitchell, Jr.; and Russell A. Mitchell.
Mrs. Mitchell was a homemaker and was self-employed at the Cedars Restaurant and an Antique Dealer in Lebanon for many years; she also owned and operated the Stitchin' Post in Lebanon.
Very active in womens club; Den Mother and Girl Scout Leader and belonged to Quilters Club, ALMA Coordinator (Adoptive Liberations Movement, Assoc) for Southern Illinois.
She was an avid reader, loved horses, and traveling.
Visitation: Thursday, November 20, 2008 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Meyer Funeral Home, Lebanon, IL
Funeral: Thursday, November 20, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at the Meyer Funeral Home with Jon Milam officiating. Private burial will take place on Friday, November 21, 2008 at College Hill Cemetery, Lebanon, IL.
Memorials may be offered to: American Cancer Society.
