    Sharon L. Hampton, 59, of Caseyville, IL went home to be with her lord and savior, November 3, 2021 surrounded by her loved ones.

    She was born October 26, 1962 in Belleville, IL to Lynn and Charlotte (nee Schaffer) Powers.

    Sharon married the love of her life May 12, 1979.  They spent the next 37 years together until Chuck's passing in May 2016.  They were blessed with a beautiful daughter on October 20, 1979 and exactly two years to the day later, they welcomed momma’s baby boy to their family.

    Sharon was a devoted wife and mother.  She had such a sweet soul and was loved by all who knew her.  Sharon loved butterflies, Lifetime movies, Diet Coke, The St Louis Cardinals, Hershey candy bars and chocolate chip cookies.  Most of all she loved her two grandsons, Nana’s boys, Austin and Joshua Compton.

    Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Charles (Chuck) Hampton; father, Lynn Powers and stepfather James (Pappy) Green.

    She is survived by her mother Charlotte Green; her two children, Tara Hayden (Tommy Benson) and Chuck Hampton; her two Grandsons; Airman Austin Compton and Joshua Compton; brother, Monty Powers (Kim); sister, Char Diesel (John); sister, Cindy Keilbach (Tom); brother, Mike Hampton (Donna); sister, Shelly Shrum (Mark); sister, Hester Knecht; her loving mother-in-law, Betty Hampton and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

    A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held Friday, November 12, 2021 at the Caseyville Moose Lodge, 8550 Bunkum Road, Caseyville IL. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. with a memorial service to begin at 7 p.m.  Please wear your favorite St. Louis Cardinals gear in her honor.  Appetizers and refreshments will be served.

    Flowers can be sent to 8826 Sterling Place, Caseyville, IL 62232 or in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family.  All donations will be used to provide a special Christmas for the residents of the long-term care facility where Sharon spent the last 18 months.

    I just want to tell you that I love and miss you so much! You were truly the strongest person I’ve ever met. You went through so much and always kept a smile on your face. Heaven has definitely gained an angel. Love ya so much!!!!
