Sam Rodriguez, Jr., 74, of Lebanon, IL, died Sunday, July 8, 2012, at his residence.
Sam was born September 17, 1937 to Samuel and Anita (nee Sandoval) Rodriguez, in Dodge City, KS. On March 25, 1993 he married Thelma Rodriguez in Dupo, IL.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lebanon, IL, and VFW, Waterloo, IL. He served 12 years in the Air Force. He worked at Caterpillar in Peoria, IL for 10 years while living in Morton, IL. He worked U S Civil Service – U S Army (A V S C O M), in St. Louis, MO for 20 years.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Anita (Gene) Walker, Lebanon, IL, Lisa (Michael) Rodriguez-Mueller, Lebanon, IL; 1 granddaughter, Megan Walker, New Baden, IL; 1 great-grandson, Emanuel Williams; 1 sister and 2 brothers, Louis (Juani) Rodriguez, Newton, KS, John Albert Rodriguez, Hutchison, KS, Martha (Richard) Olivarez, Dodge City, KS; a special caregiver, Melissa Jordan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Anita Rodriguez; his wife, Thelma Rodriguez; 1 sister, Rosa Briseno; 1 brother, David Rodriguez.
Memorials may be made to Cedar Ridge Healthcare and Rehab Center.
Visitation: Wednesday, July 11, 2012, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, July 12, 2012 from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. at Meyer Funeral Home, Lebanon, IL.
Mass of Christian Burial: Thursday, July 12, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lebanon, IL.
Clergy: Fr. Gene Neff
Interment: Jefferson Barricks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO, with full Military Honors.
