Sally Ann Grimes Brokaw, 84, of Albion passed away on September 9, 2024 at Oakview Nursing Home in Mt. Carmel, Illinois.
Sally was born in Fairfield, Illinois on March 30, 1940 to Cleve and Dorothy (Smith) Doty. She attended Fairfield High School. Sally worked in several factories. She moved to Albion, Illinois where she worked at Champion Laboratories and retired from there.
She was a member of Samaria Baptist Church, west of Albion, Illinois. In 2003, she was married to her second husband, Harold Brokaw. Sally was a homemaker who loved gardening, and she enjoyed cutting firewood. She enjoyed being with friends and loved serving the Lord. Sally always had a big smile.
Sally is survived by a son, Walter David (Betty Jo) Grimes of Lawrenceville, Illinois; a daughter, Bobbie Grimes Lewis of Albion, Illinois. She is also survived by two brothers, Gary Doty and Cleve (Rita) Doty, all of Fairfield, Illinois. Three grandchildren also survive – Misty Baker, Krista Walker and Lucas Bissey. Sally has three great grandchildren who also survive.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Harold Brokaw; a daughter Jodonna (Jody) Reeder; great grand daughter Elanie Walker; four brothers Russell Doty, Bud Doty, Tony Smith and Ronnie Doty of Fairfield, Illinois and three sisters Victoria Harris, Deloris Medler and Madeline Lewis.
Graveside services for Sally Ann Grimes Brokaw will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the Samaria Baptist Church Cemetery, located west of Albion, Illinois.
