Ruth Ann Weber, 63, of O’Fallon, IL and formerly of Lebanon, IL, died Saturday, March 19, 2022, in O’Fallon, IL.

She was born Thursday, June 5, 1958, to Edgar and Florence (nee Faulkner) Weber.

Ruth graduated from Lebanon High School in 1976. She then went to Eastern Illinois University and graduated in 1980 with a degree in Accounting. While away at school, Ruth met many great people and made lifelong friends. Ruth loved travelling. She and her close friend, Nancy, took trips to all parts of the world, including Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Egypt, Germany, England, France, Greece, and China, among others. She made it a goal to travel somewhere new throughout the 80s and 90s and would always come back with the best stories from her adventures.

Ruth worked her entire career as a CPA; first working for Ganin, Meder, Childers, and Hoering PC in the 80s and 90s, and currently for Catholic Holy Family Society as the Vice President of Accounting, where she had been employed for 30 years.

Ruth was an active member at St. George’s Episcopal Church. There she was lector and worked as an accountant for the church. Ruth was also a volunteer for the Lebanon Education Foundation and always attended their fundraising functions. In her spare time, she was an avid English movie and literature buff. She loved plays and musicals and held season tickets at the Fox Theater.  She loved her collections from BBC and would rarely be found without a new book in hand. Ruth always brought the fun and energy to family gatherings by playing trivia, cards, and board games. She loved all sports and was a proud St. Louis Rams season ticket holder with her brother, Tom. She rarely, if ever, missed one of her niece’s college tennis matches at Mizzou. Ruth was one of those people who could talk about any subject and truly enjoy it.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Florence Weber.

Ruth is survived by her brother, Tom (Judy) Weber, Belleville, IL; niece, Mallory (Jess) Weber; close family members, Nicole and Julie Cermak; many cousins and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Lebanon Education Foundation.

Dear Tom, Judy and all the Weber and Cermak families,
I am so sorry and shocked to hear of Ruth Ann’s death. In the several times I was invited to attend family gatherings, I found that she was a very special and wonderful person. It was clear how much you all meant to her and how much she meant to you. May you be comforted through the grief of losing this beautiful lady.
    With love, Mary

I am so sorry to hear that Ruth passed away. I have so many memories of her, Terry Winterrowd, Cheryl Carty and I in grade school and high school. She had a sharp mind and a quick wit and she was much loved!
