Roy was born October 5, 1941 to Cecil G. and S. Roy enjoyed spending time with the family, mushroom hunting, and piddling on his tractor.  One of his favorite sayings was “If I didn’t tease you, you would think I didn’t love you.”

Roy is survived by his wife Judi Schell of Johnsonville, Illinois; three sons Steven (Jamie) Schell of Tuscumbia, Alabama, Kevin Schell of Rinard, Illinois and Scott (Stephanie) Schell of Flora, Illinois; eleven grandchildren Rachael Ellis (Joshua Greenwood) of Cisne, Illinois, Samantha (Craig) Richardson of Fairfield, Illinois, Logan (Bree) Colbert of West Salem, Illinois, Corey (Mandy) Deters of Flora, Illinois and Amanda Schell of Johnsonville, Illinois, Hayle (Steve) Gray of Flora, Illinois, Jessica (Ryan) Ruble of Cisne, Illinois, and Heather (Zach) Rice of Xenia, Illinois, Chris (Beth) Deters of Kentucky and Ashley (Travis) Arnold of Louisville, Illinois and twenty-four great grandchildren.  Also surviving are two sisters Janice Lowe of Cisne, Illinois and Betty (Jim) Kasten of Rockford, Illinois and two brothers Charles (Helen) Schell of Oregon, Illinois, and Jerry (Glenda) Schell of Cisne, Illinois.

May God grant comfort to the entire family. I have many fond memories of Roy and the family growing up in the Rock Branch area. We shared many events at the Church including those family potluck dinners. I also recall those good times while attending Cisne High School. Roy was always willing to assist by doing those little extras for anyone and enjoyed having a fun time. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you. May God bless.
