Roy J. Worstell, 87, of Highland, IL, died Thursday, February 25, 2021 at St. John Hospital, Springfield, IL.
Roy was born April 8, 1933 to William and Emilia (nee Charlier) Worstell, in Mills Township, Bond County, IL.
Roy was a member of the Baptist faith and a member of the Highland Masonic Lodge. A proud Veteran; he retired from the United States Air Force after 34 years as a Master Sergeant.
Roy was a dedicated man, a helpful friend, a kind father, and loving grandfather. Roy enjoyed spending time researching family trees as a hobby for the City of Highland, and close loved ones. His favorite book was the Bible, and he read it every night before bed. He will be most remembered as a kind, giving man, who donated to many causes. His generosity to those in need around him, will stay in the memories of those he helped. He will be forever missed, loved, and in the hearts of those he touched.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Emilia Worstell, daughters, Rhonda Johnson, Rena Ramirez, Rose Worstell; granddaughter, Vanessa Worstell; sibling, William Worstell, Donald Worstell (in-infancy), Ola Weiss, Eugenia Morrow, Arthur Worstell, Glenn Worstell, and Delmar Worstell.
Roy is survived by his children, Russell Worstell, Ricky (Missy) Worstell, Randall (Cecilia) Worstell, Ronnie Worstell, Catherine Worstell, Princess Rose Worstell; son-in-laws, Robert Johnson, Arthur Ramirez; grandchildren, Chad, Travis, Lindsey, Nicole, Kim, Justine, Angela, Kimberly, Matthew, Joseph, Brittanni, Brandy, Jeremy, Ranson, Ranier, Adrian, Malinda, Benny, Ashley, Amber, Amanda, Bruce and Isaac; sister, Geneva Adcock; many nieces and nephews.
