    Roger A. Pfister, Sr., 63, of Highland, IL, died Saturday, March 7, 2015, at St. Joseph Hospital, Highland, IL.

    Roger was born August 14, 1951, to Cecil and Beatrice (nee Koehler) Pfister, Sr., in Highland, IL.  On January 29, 1972, he married Susan Broniec at St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL.

    Roger enjoyed spending his time at Cloud Nine Ranch camping and riding four wheelers with his wife and good friends.  He also had a passion for old cars.  He enjoyed rebuilding them and had several that he was very proud of. 

    After high school, Roger worked for Richardson Chemical then joined the U.S. Navy Seabees (MCB-40) in 1971 and received an honorary discharge in 1975.  He was then employed by Hulcher Emergency Service from 1975-1986 and NutriBasics from 1986-1995. 

    The biggest title he ever held was being called "Grandpa".  His grandkids came before anything else and were his pride and joy.

    He is survived by his wife, Susie Pfister, Highland, IL; 3 children, Deana (Dale) Frey, Maryville, IL, Cheri (Andrew) Young, Chapel Hill, NC, and Roger (Eulonda) Pfister, Jr., Raleigh, NC; 8 grandchildren, Arielle and Cali Rinderer, Mackenzie and Camden Frey, Brody, Gracie, and Cooper Young, Nathan Pfister; 3 brothers, Cecil (Lynn) Pfister, Jr., Highland, IL, William (Kim) Pfister, Richwood, TX, and Robert (Ginger) Pfister, Greensboro, NC; 3 sisters, Barbara (Mark) Schauster, Highland, IL, Linda (Greg) Boxell, Highland, IL, and Bonnie Martin, Collinsville, IL; a close friend, Jim VanWinkle; several nieces and nephews, and cousins.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil (Apr. 11, 1977) and Beatrice (Jun. 25, 1973) Pfister, Sr.

    Memorials may be made to Leaps of Love or Moose Lodge.
