Robert E. “Bud” Lee, 74, of Pocahontas, IL, died Sunday, September 29, 2013, at his residence, surrounded by his family.
Bud was born September 1, 1939, to Elmer and Irene (nee Potts) Lee, in Pocahontas, IL. On August 27, 1960, he married Julia “Judy” Beard in Pocahontas, IL.
Bud was a member of the Mason Gordon Lodge #473 AF&AM.
He worked 56 years as a laborer at Local #100 and retired from the Illinois American Water Company after 37 years.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Lee, Pocahontas, IL; 2 sons, Robert E. ((Joyce) Lee, Old Ripley, IL, and Tom J. (Billie Jo) Lee, Sorento, IL; 6 grandchildren, Rob (Erica) Lee, Bill (Alice) Lee, Bobby (Rachel) Walker, Adam (Cassie Stewart) Walker, Amber (Matt Reiner) Lee, Austin (April McNece) Lee; 10 great grandchildren; 1 brother, James (Jessie) Lee, Greenville, IL; 1 niece.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer J. and Irene M. Lee; 2 sisters, Virginia Lee, and Delores Chapman.
Memorials may be made to the Old Ripley-Pocahontas Fire Department.
Visitation: Wednesday, October 2, 2013, from 4:oo to 8:00 pm, and Thursday, October 3, 2013, from 8:00 to 10:00 am, at Meridith Funeral Home, Pocahontas, IL.
