Robert “Robby” Claus, Jr., 62 passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022 at his home in Collinsville, IL, surrounded by his family.
He was born October 4, 1959 to Robert, Sr. and Janet (nee Fortney) Claus in San Diego, CA.
Robert lived in Collinsville, IL his whole life, his nickname was “ROC”. He was a welder and worked highrises in Dallas, TX, Robert loved helping people, never met a stranger, only made friends. He was a very funny guy, jokester, born to make people laugh, would light up a room and was the life of the party. Robert loved his children, his cat, Aslan, and Bar-B-Q (charcoal only). He was very creative and also loved crafting.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Allan and Mae Claus and George and Emily Fortney; spouse, Elizabeth Barfield; nephew, John G. Claus, Jr.
Robert is survived by his parents, Bob and Jan Claus; children, Robert Claus, III, and Katie (Chris) Portell; sister, Lori de Carvalho; brother, John Glenn (Sang Hwa) Claus; dear friend, Marlene De Chiara: niece, Kimberly (Nick) Zimmer; nephew, Christophe de Carvalho; two loving aunts and many caring fiends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022 rom 10:00 am to 2:00pm, at Metro East Christian Fellowship, 1790 West Highway 50, O’Fallon, IL. Memorial Service at 1:00 pm with Reverend Richard Bersett officiating.
