Robert B. Wren, 81, of Highland, IL, died Sunday, February 18, 2018, at St. Joseph Hospital, Highland, IL.
Bob was born on August 29, 1936, to Robert and Rebecca (nee Kelley) Wren, in Paducah, KY. On September 10, 1981, he married Betty Korte in Godfrey, IL.
He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL and a member of the Masonic Lodge, where he was a Past Master.
After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the Air Force and was stationed in Japan and saw the world. He worked at McDonnell Douglas, then Boeing for 37 years, retiring in 1989. Bob liked to travel, tell stories, play chess, learn the computer, play cards and dominos, and gardening. And, he really loved his dogs.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Wren, Highland, IL; Children, D’Lisa (Cotton) Schulte, New Baden, IL, Kelley (Luiza) Wren, Worms, Germany, Craig Wren, Belleville, IL; Stepchildren, Sharon (Calvin) Cox, St. Louis, MO, Eric Jansen, St. Louis, MO, Scott Jansen, St. Louis MO; Grandchildren, Ryan Schulte (Lauren Roseankranz), New Baden, IL, Jennifer Ann Wren, Worms, Germany; Step Grandchildren, Nick, Lisa, Elaine, Cari, Juliann, Theresa, Jesse, Mark; several Step Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Robert and Rebecca Wren.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul Education Foundation or Highland Area Christian Service Ministry.
Visitation: Friday, February 23, 2018, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, and Saturday, February 24, 2018, from 8:00 to 9:30 am, Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, IL.
