Former Williston, ND resident, Richie V. "Red" Matchett passed away at his home in Chandler, AZ with his wife by his side. He was born August 15, 1942 to George & Louise Matchett in Cisne, IL.

Red was a hard and determined man and when he set his mind to something; he did it. He decided at an early age that to be successful he was going to have to outwork everyone else. With that drive, Red started working in the oil field as a roughneck and later became a driller with the Baash Ross Company in Olney, IL. He became the company manager for NL Acme Tool and was relocated to Williston, ND in 1978. In 1981, at the age of 39, Red formed a partnership with David Peterson and created Wellpro, Inc. He was the managing president for the company until his retirement. Being a very civic minded person, Red was active in the Elks Club and Shriners organizations.

Red is survived by his wife: Janell Matchett, sons: Leslie (Rene') Matchett

& their daughters: Lindsay (Kirk) Foster, Kylee and Paige, Lauren Matchett (Robert Lea); R. Vince Jr. (Hang) Matchett and their two children: Richie & Jasmine. Sister: Ladonna (Ron) Berkenstock. Half-brother: George (Carolyn) Matchett. Step-children: Jennifer Stinardo, Kadin & Ryan; Jeffrey Guetter (Courtney), Sebastian, Gaige & Heather.

He is preceded in death by his father: George Matchett, mother: Louise

Henson, brother: Vickie Matchett and two sons: Richie Jo & Marvin Lee.

Hi Ladonna and Family: I am so sorry to hear about the death of your Love One Richie. I know that all of the family will miss him but remember all the good times you had with him over the years as the memories are so precious. I hope that you will remember me I am Marilyn (Shehorn) Tarbutton the daughter of Lawrence Shehorn I remember seeing Richie and Ladonna when I was growing up we did spend a little time together and I always liked his pretty red hair. I have been gone from Illinois since June, 1959 and now I live in California near Palm Springs. May God bless all you at this time and take care of each other. If I remember right I am a distant cousin. With my deepest sympathy, love and blessings, Marilyn (Shehorn) Tarbutton
