      Richard D. Fillon, 80, of Highland, IL, died Sunday, November 17, 2019 at St. Joseph Hospital in Highland, IL.

      Richard was born June 7, 1939 to Marius and Constance (nee Lebegue) Fillon in Highland, IL.  On June 7, 1961, he married Delores Becker at the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland, IL.

      Richard was a past President of the St. Jacob Lions Club.  He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed deer hunting and fishing.  He liked to bowl and play washers.  Richard’s true enjoyment came in spending time with his family.

      Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Delores Fillon; children, Norman (Terri) Barnhart, Don (Lisa Grotefendt) Barnhart, Cindy (Mike) Ripperda; grandchildren, Nichole (Brandon) Miller, Michael (Vicki) Ripperda Jr., Danny (Allyson) Ripperda, Katie (Adam Leefers) Barnhart, Chris Barnhart, Courtney (Scott) Denkler, Joe (Brandi) Barnhart, Tyler (Karla) Barnhart; great grandchildren, Norah Miller, Emmett & Gracyn Ripperda, Lee Denkler, Reese & Grant Barnhart, Lena & Violet Barnhart; step great grandchildren, Cody (Kelsea) Ventimiglia.

      He was preceded in death by his parents, Marius and Constance Fillon; brother Rollin Fillon.

      Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society

      Tyler and Joe so sorry for the loss of your grandfather. I know he will be missed a lot, but remember the fun times it helps a little. Prayers for everyone.

      Tyler so sorry about your grandfather. I know you will miss him so much. Death isn’t as bad as watching our loved ones suffer But it does leave a empty place in our hearts I hope you have fond memories to comfort you. Prayers and Love for your family.
