    Ralph Ervin Bay, 98, of Collinsville, IL, was born November 4, 1922 in Mountainview, MO and died June 16, 2021, at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, IL.

    He grew up in Southwest MO working at a young age in the family logging and sawmill business and on the family farm.

    He married the love of his life, Nellie Pauline Brawley in Salem, MO on July 26, 1941.

    Ralph worked as the Head Maintenance Mechanic and Welder for USS AG Chemical for over 50 years. Ralph loved to work with his hands and could fix anything. He was a member of AFL CIO for all those years. While working he also took on the task as Vice President, President and Shop Steward of his local union. He was a proud union member.

    Ralph and Nellie were married 57 years and had two sons, Ronald Ervin and Roger Neil. Ralph loved watching the St. Louis Cardinals and was an avid fan. His greatest joy was being married to his wife and spending time with his two grandsons, Ron Jr. and Rob Bay, and his great grandson Nathan.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Bay; son, Roger Bay; parents, Odice C. and Minnie Bay; brothers, Bill Bay, Charles Bay, Ben "Slick" Bay, Wade "Dutch" Bay, George Bay.

    He is survived by son, Ronald and Teresa Bay, his favorite daughter-in-law, Collinsville, IL; grandsons, Ronald (Jennifer) Bay Jr., Collinsville, IL and Robert Bay, Collinsville, IL; great grandson, Nathan Bay; sister, Dessie Connelly, Kansas City, KS; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

    Memorials can be made to Madison County Humane Society.

    Visitation: Sunday, June 20, 2021, 4:00 to 7:00 pm, Kassly-Meridith Funeral Home, Collinsville, IL.

    Service: Monday, June 21, 2021, 11:00 am, Kassly-Meridith Funeral Home, Collinsville, IL.
