    Peggy Lou Harris, 81, of Mt. Erie, Illinois, passed away on August 28, 2024 at Fairfield Memorial Hospital in Fairfield, Illinois.

    On May 25, 1943, in Fairfield, Illinois, Peggy was born to Harvey and Dorothy McKay Hallam. She married Lynn Roy Harris on March 27, 1964 and spent over 45 years of marriage before his passing on April 11, 2009.

    Peggy loved all animals, and especially loved taking care of cows. She also loved bingo. She was always helping others.

    Left to cherish Peggy’s memory are her two children Kevin (Joellen) Harris and Tammy Daugherty; 8 Grandchildren, 4 Great-grandchildren; sisters Lavonne Walker and Grace Merritt; brothers David Hallam, Carol Hallam and John Hallam.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lynn Roy; son-in-law Kenny Daugherty; brothers Gene Hallam, Harvey Lee Hallam, Ralph Hallam, Alan Hallam, and Gilbert Hallam; and one sister Iva Fechter.

    Services for Peggy Harris will be held Thursday, September 5, 2024 at Ingram-Meridith Funeral Home in West Salem, Illinois with Visitation from 10:00 a.m.to 12:00 p.m. and Services at 12:00 p.m.. Burial to follow at Little Wabash Cemetery, west of West Salem, Illinois.

    Sorry to hear of Peggy’passing.. She and Lynn Roy went through high and low, Thick and thin,but they always made it together.. Sympathy and love.

    Loved talking with Peg at The Brick Church. Hardest working lady I think I ever met. She will be missed.

    So sorry of the loss of such a sweet and kind woman. Peg was such a good hearted friend and one time sister in law to me.
    I have so many memories of Peg, One I remember was her giving me a hard time,lol, as I was on her roof, trying to help Carroll with reroofing yet I was afraid of heights.
    Have many memories over the years, Peg will sadly missed.
