Patrick “Pato” Michael Garcia, 39, of Fairmont City, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

He was born on January 6, 1985, in St. Louis, MO, to Gilbert and Tina (Cantrell) Garcia.

Pat found his greatest joy in the love of his family, and nothing brought him more pride than his role as an uncle. To his nieces and nephews, he was more than just family; he was the “cool uncle” they could always count on for a laugh, a word of encouragement, or simply be there. Among his friends and family, Pat was known as someone who would do anything for those he loved. His loyalty was unwavering, and he was always first to lend a hand. If you were part of his circle, you knew you could depend on him fully, and he would give the shirt off his back if you needed it. Pat may have been a man who liked to keep to himself, but his impact was felt profoundly by those who were fortunate enough to be close to him. He was a rock, a constant source of strength and love, and his memories will be cherished by his family and friends forever.

Pat was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert Roland Garcia.

Pat is survived by his mother, Tina Garcia; siblings, Niki (Francisco) Obregon, Steven (Bobbie Jo) Garcia, Kenny Garcia; nieces and nephews, Leagan, Caitlyn, Hannah, Elena, Kenly, Cisco, Gaby, Jesus, Jonah; and many loving friends.

Kassly - Meridith Funeral Home, Collinsville, IL.

Tina, Steven, Kenny and Niki, Fred & I are so sad to hear of Patrick’s passing. The picture you used for his obituary is truly perfect. I can see that little smile he is about to give & his quiet eyes looking at you. This is Patrick as I know him, quiet but having the sense of everything going on around him. I’m so sad learning of his passing, he is so young . All of you are remembered in my prayers.

I never knew him well but heard he was a great guy. He was also a part of history in Fairmont City. My condolences to the family.
