Patricia M. “Pat” Baer, 75, of Highland, IL, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2024, at her home, in Highland, IL.

She was born on August 3, 1949, in Highland, IL, to Vernon and Dorothy (nee Knabel) Stoecklin. On May 4, 1968, she married Robert L. “Bob” Baer at St. Paul Catholic Church in Highland, IL.

Pat was born and raised in Highland and went through the St. Paul Catholic School system, graduating from St. Paul Catholic High School in 1967. She owned and operated Highland Rentals with her late husband, Bob Baer, for 40 years. Pat was a devout Catholic, being a faithful member of St. Paul Catholic Church for many years.

Through her church, Pat was a Eucharistic Minister and member of the decorating committee. She also volunteered at St. Rose Elementary School often. Pat enjoyed sewing, gardening, and traveling with her husband, friends, and family. She loved the St. Louis Cardinals and attending any and all of her grandchildren’s events.

A faithful woman, Pat prayed all the time. She was selfless, always putting others needs before her own, and a wonderful friend to many. Pat was very adventurous, and anything her grandkids asked her to do, she would try it. A loving mother, grandmother, and sister, Pat will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. “Bob” Baer; parents, Vernon and Dorothy Stoecklin; brother, Duane Stoecklin; and sister, Marilyn Stoecklin (in infancy).

Pat is survived by her sons, Erick (Lisa) Baer and Stephen (Elaine) Baer; grandchildren, Carson Baer, Alyse Baer, Brayden Baer, Adalynn Baer, Gavynn Baer, and Nadia Baer; step grandchildren, Collin (Annie) Toennies and Jonah (fiancé, Elina) Toennies; brothers, Dennis (Denise) Stoecklin and Darrell (Robin) Stoecklin; numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church or St. Paul Catholic School.

We hope that anyone who knew Pat is able to express the feeling of loss that is upon us at this time. The Baer Family has experienced so much it has to be difficult to describe. We can only hope that the days ahead will bring some comfort knowing how much people really care. She was an example of all the positive things we strive to be. We were so fortunate to be part of her life in the last few years. Thank You Pat, we look forward to seeing you again ! Sincerely, Katie & John Frerker

Dear Erick, Stephen, Lisa, Elaine and all the wonderful grandchildren
I wanted to express my sincere condolences on the loss of your wonderful mother and
grandmother. Family was so important to her and she often shared wonderful stories of
what was going on in her life with me – one of her BFF. She and Bob took
Gavyn and Carson on a trip through the Civil War sites and other places in Pennsylvania.
She wondered how they were so brave to do that! Her 4H training helped her to
sew such beautiful doll clothes for Adalyn. Of course Brayden’s basketball successes
made her proud. And Brayden’s struggles this past year after a horrific car accident caused
all of us to PRAY HARD. As the obituary says. she was very prayerful. Her ministry as a
Eucharistic Minister inspired me to take up that role too. She was a wonderful person to all
who knew her and our lives were richer by having known her. I was her classmate
all through the years at St. Paul. May memories of good times comfort you all in this sad time.
May Pat rest in peace and may St. Padre Pio be with her. Carolyn Isert Firestone – class of ’67
