Patricia Josephine Carver, 85, of Lebanon, IL passed to her heavenly home on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 after a brief battle with cancer. She had been under the loving care of the Hospice team at Evelyn’s House.

Pat was born May 20, 1934 to Carl and Mamie Vorce in Denver, Colorado; the youngest of five siblings.

She was a proud member of the St. Frances de Sales High School, graduating class of 1952. While overseas visiting her sister, Pat met the man of her dreams in Morocco, North Africa. She married Thurman Carver on November 19, 1955. After Thurman’s retirement from the Air Force, they chose to remain in Illinois. They were blessed with three children along their journey. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Pat will always be remembered for her kind heart, easy smile and never ending sense of humor.

Pat was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lebanon, where she enjoyed visiting friends at the monthly luncheon and other social events. She was an animal lover and avid bird watcher. While she considered herself a homemaker, many will remember “Mrs. Carver” for her work at Summerfield Grade School as the playground supervisor.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Mamie Vorce; brothers, Carl, Francis and William; and sister, Mary Ellen.

Pat is survived by her devoted husband of almost 64 years, Thurman D. Carver; son, Chuck (Deena) Carver; daughters, Cheryl (partner, Jim) Klitzing, Connie (Jason) Skidis; granddaughters, Liz (Nathan) Burbank, Sydney Skidis and Zoe Skidis; great granddaughter, Lila Burbank; many nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished friends.

Memorials may be made to the St. Joseph’s Cemetery Fund or the Donor’s Choice.

Pat was a true friend, always ready to laugh or cry with you. I have so many wonderful memories. Some are simple ones like sharing tea at the kitchen table. She always offered encouragement and could make you laugh. I loved her dearly. May she Rest In Peace and may God surround her family with comfort and peace. I am certain she is greeting all in heaven.
