Patricia A. “Pat” Corey, 65, of Troy, IL, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, in Troy, IL.

She was born on June 29, 1959, in Highland, IL, to Ambert and Rosemary (nee Sahrmann) Williams.

Pat has been living in Troy for the last 10 years, but grew up in Pierron, IL, and graduated from Highland High School in 1978. She worked for Artex in Highland for 20 years, then Clean Uniform until she moved to Troy where she worked for a local nursing home for a stent, then finally spent the last of her career at QPSI in Pontoon Beach.

Pat enjoyed gardening, shopping at thrift stores, reading, and spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. A caring woman who loved animals, she often took care of the stray cats around her neighborhood. Her favorite holiday was Halloween and always loved getting together with her family. She was a great listener and was always there to help when needed. Pat will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ambert and Rosemary Williams; brothers, Ed Williams and Mike Williams; brother-in-law, David Romanick; and nephew, Jeremy Romanick.

Pat is survived by her sons, Levi (Jessica) Williams and Jason (Leah) Corey; grandchildren, Sophia Williams, Gavin Williams, and Keegan Corey; and sister, Peggy Romanick.

Instead of memorial donations in honor of Pat, her family encourages you to spend time in nature and with your family.

No services will be held at this time.

This is such a sad thing to hear. Patty and I grew up together, we spent quite a bit of time together hanging out. We lost touch when I moved away, but would always try to see her when I came back to town. I love you dear friend, paulette

I will always love and miss you Patricia. You were a great girlfriend. We ate together at every restaurant in Highland. The wind would blow the hamburgers and chili dogs away. But we always had to eat on the grass. We always had gifts for each other.

Pat always had her door open for my son that grew up with her boys. She was a hard worker taking care of her sons. So sorry Levi and Jason for your loss. Prayers for you all.

She was a second mother for all of the kids in Pierron. She made sure no one went without even when she had very little herself. She will be missed by all of her kids.
