  • Full Obituary

Pamela J. “Pam” Johnson, 46, of Greenville, IL, passed away, Sunday, January 15, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in O’Fallon, IL, with her daughter by her side.

Pamela was born, September 14, 1976, in Vandalia, IL, and blessed with parents, Maurice and Betty (nee Andersen) Hogue.

Pamela attended grade school in Vandalia, IL, and graduated from Greenville High School.  In her younger years, she took piano lessons, which were put to good use, as a member of First Christian Church in Greenville, IL, where she played the piano and sang in the choir.

Pam enjoyed going out, especially to Bingo and shopping for home décor with friends. She collected Michael Kors purses, clothing, & jewelry.  She liked to plan trips, travel, and was able to go on a cruise to the Bahamas with her best friend.  Listening to music, especially Whitney Houston, and 90’s Rhythm and Blues, was another favorite past time.   Pam was a wonderful mom, sister, aunt and friend.  She loved to babysit, always made sure to take care of her friends and family, and cared so much about everyone, putting their needs above her own.  Pam was independent, a go getter, a hard worker, loving, caring, and anytime she was in pain, she would push through; as a fighter, she wouldn’t worry anyone else with her problems; she was very strong.  Above all, her daughter meant the world to her, and she loved her very much.

She is survived by her daughter, Vanessa Oppong-Johnson, Greenville, IL; sisters, Tracy Emerson, Lisa (Eric) Ruble; chosen sisters since grade school, Robin Peterson, Gwendolyn Sue McGuire; niece and nephews, Cheyenne Hogue, Justin Hogue, Austin Emerson; cousins, Richard Jasudowicz, Julianne Singleton, Jeremy (Leslie) Jasudowicz.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Betty Hogue.

Memorials may be made to the Family, c/o Vanessa Oppong-Johnson
