    Orville L. Weiss, 96, of Greenville, IL, died Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Greenville Regional Hospital, Greenville, IL

    He was born February 9, 1915 to Edward and Bertha (nee Basler) Weiss in Bond County Illinois.  On December 17, 1938 he married Nellie Hagler in St. Charles, MO.

    He worked for Pet Milk, Inc. in Greenville, IL for 36 years and he also worked on construction.

    Orville was a member of Pocahontas United Methodist Church, Pocahontas, IL.  He was a former member of Pocahontas Senior Citizens, he served on Bond Co. Sr. Citizens Board for 7 years, and he volunteered at Fair Oaks Nursing Home.

    He is survived by 3 children, Bonnie (Darryl) Arnold, Marion, IL, Sharon Daniken, Greenville, IL, Jim (Phyllis) Weiss, Strasburg, IL; 5 grandchildren, Jo Ellen (Kevin Bloodworth) Brozowski, Trina (Steve) Shaw, Julie (Dale Green) Daniken, Greg Daniken, Jason Weiss, Chad Daniken; 8 great-grandchildren, Amy, Devon, Benjamin, Gavon, Caleb, Caitlyn, Bryan, Jasmine; 3 sisters, Velma Hitz, Leta File, Esther (Boze) Brown.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Bertha Weiss; wife, Nellie Weiss; 5 brothers, Vallie, Arthur, Henry, Theodore, Elmer Weiss.

    Memorials may be made to Pocahontas United Methodist Church, Pocahontas, IL.

    Visitation: Wednesday 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Meridith Funeral Home, Pocahontas, IL and Thursday 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Pocahontas United Methodist Church.

    Funeral: Thursday 11:00 a.m. at Pocahontas United Methodist Church.
