Ora Lee (Burkhart) McGovern, 73 of Pocahontas, IL died Wednesday, August 1, 2007 @ Fair Oaks Nursing Home, Greenville, IL. She was born January 20, 1934 in Indian Mound Tennessee to Dewey Leslie and Naomi Ethelyn (Grizzard) Burkhart, both deceased. She married John Bradford McGovern June 29. 1951 in Springfield, Tennessee and he preceded her in death April 30, 1998.
Survived by two sons and one daughter - Barry (Tammy) McGovern - Taylorville, IL; Steven McGovern - Pocahontas, IL; Diana (Ron) Luber - Highland, IL; three grandchildren - Angie (John) Stevens - Troy, IL; Randy Luber - Troy, IL; Sarah (Nick) Jett - Pocahontas, IL; three great grandchildren - Madyson Jett; Macy Jett; and Henry Stevens; three brothers - James (Velma) Burkhart - Indian Mound, Tenn; Leon (Debbie Burkhart - Indian Mound, Tenn; Donnie (Jane) Burkhart - Dover, Tenn; four sisters - Betty (Gene) Turner - Cumberland City, Tenn; Florence (Lewis) Shephard, Carolyn (Jimmie) Threatt and Wanda (Joe) Collman all of Indian Mound, Tenn.
She was also preceded in death by one sister - Janie Travis.
She was a homemaker and had a membership in the Rose Valley United Methodist Church, Cub Creek, Tenn.
Visitation: Friday, August 3, 2007 from 6:00-8:00 pm and Saturday, August 4th from 8:00 a.m. until time of service at the May Funeral Home.
Funeral: Saturday, August 4, 2007 @ 10:00 A.M. at the May Funeral Home, Pocahontas, IL with the Rev. Dave Trover, Pastor, First United Methodist Church, Pocahontas officiating. Burial in Brown Cemetery, Pocahontas, IL.
