    Norma J. Briggs, 91, of Albion, IL, passed from this life into Jesus’s arms on September 23, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in O’Fallon, IL.

     She was born June 13, 1927 in Albion, IL to Lourine (Tait) and Glenn Johnson. Her first marriage was to Dr. L.K. “Doc” Glover on May 18, 1946 and they welcomed two children to this world, Yvonne and David. They enjoyed 33 years together until L.K. preceded her in death on May 24, 1979. Norma married Kenneth “K.O. Britches” Briggs on June 13, 1980. They too enjoyed life together, spending winters in Florida golfing and fishing until he passed on November 19, 2010. Norma was a homemaker.

     She is survived by her daughter, Yvonne (Ralph) Stone of Trenton, IL; two step-daughters, Mary Frances “Francie” Kieffer of West Salem, IL and Patricia Eileen “Trish” Everette of White Heath, IL; a daughter-in-law, Paula Glover of Albion; a brother, Ron Johnson of Albion; and 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, son David Glover, and two brothers: Herschel and Hubert.

     Visitation will be Tuesday, September 25, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ingram-Meridith Funeral Home in Albion. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 26 at 10 a.m. at the Albion First United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Graceland Cemetery.

     Memorials may be made to the Albion FUMC Stained Glass Window Project, and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
