    • Full Obituary

Michael T. “Mike” Bandy, of Trenton, IL, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, in Alhambra, IL.

Mike was born on October 26, 1943, to Gerald and Nelda (nee Schmollinger) Bandy, in Vandalia, IL. He married the love of his life, Shirley Iberg, on August 17, 1968, in Alton, IL.

Mike lived in the Trenton area for over 50 years and owned Mike’s Tractor & Supply. He enjoyed hunting and stock car racing.  He was at the stock car races every Saturday night either in the stands or in the pits.  Mike was a simple man who loved his children and grandkids, spending time with them as much as he could.  He did the children’s tractor pull at the Madison County Fair and the Latzer Homestead for many years.  He was a big kid at heart. One trick he loved to do that was a favorite among children was pretending to pull a quarter out of their ears.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Shirley Bandy; brothers, Jerry Bandy and Larry Bandy, brother in-law Charles Laster and nephew Kevin Laster.

Mike is survived by his children, Rose (Billy) Davis, Pocahontas, IL, Kris Gilomen, Highland, IL; grandchildren, Jessica (Tim) Warnecke, Eric Gilomen, Tory Davis, Sabrina Davis; great grandchildren, Trevor Warnecke, Jemma Warnecke; sister, Donna Laster; sister-in-law, Charlene Bandy and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Such a sweet man. He was always so kind to my son,Evan at the kids pedal tractor pulls. When Evan was too big to compete he would help Mike run the pull. Truly made a difference in my son’s life. He will be greatly missed.

Mike was such a sweetheart. My granddaughter and I went to the Highland Dairy Queen for lunch on Fridays and she always wanted to sit by “her” Mike at 3 years old! I’m so very sorry for your loss. Find comfort in all the wonderful memories.
