    Merry M. “Missy” Thornton (Nee Miller), 54, of Lebanon, IL, died Sunday, April 26, 2015 at her residence.

    Missy was born January 8, 1961, to Walter and Virginia “Rowene” (Nee Campbell) Miller, in Connellsville, PA.  On October 10, 2010 she married Jeffrey A. Thornton, at 1st United Methodist Church, Lebanon, IL.

    Missy graduated Kalaheo Reunion High School in Hawaii and went to University of Auburn on a swimming scholarship.  She was a very kind and generous person who would give the shirt off her back.  She loved her family and friends very much, but her children were her everything and that extended to her grandchildren. 

    She volunteered in many organizations throughout her adult life, including, 1st United Methodist Church, Lebanon, IL, Eastern Star, O’Fallon, IL, St. Clair County Sunset Rotary, Lebanon Chamber of Commerce, Lebanon Garden Club, Meals on Wheels, O’Fallon, IL, and Dance Instructor in Tyler, TX, where she won the national competition.

    Missy is survived by her husband, Jeffrey A. Thornton, Lebanon, IL; children, Katherine (Sean) Birmingham, Fishers, IN, Jacqueline Dauch, Kalamazoo, MI, Amy Dauch, Ferndale, MI, Richard Andrew (Charlotte) Dauch, Charlotte, NC, Madison Dauch, Lebanon, IL; grandchildren, Elizabeth Birmingham, Lillian Rivas; brothers, Major General W. Lee (Marcela) Miller, Jr., USMC, Mesquite, TX, Benjamin Glenn Miller, Hot Springs, AR; uncle, Charles (Phyllis) Miller, Dallas, TX; aunts, Dorcas (Gene) Baumgardner, Little Rock, AR, Linda (Richard) Carmiso, Gathersburg, MD; several nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Rowene Miller.

    Memorials may be made to Rotary Foundation or 1st United Methodist Church, Lebanon.

    Visitation: Thursday, April 30, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm and Friday, May 1, 2015, from 9:00 to 11:00 am at 1st United Methodist Church, Lebanon, IL.

    Funeral: Friday, May 1, 2015 at 11:00 am at 1st United Methodist Church, Lebanon, IL
