      MELVIN SPITZNER, 77, of Cisne, Illinois passed away Saturday, May 2, 2020 at his residence.

      Melvin was born May 29, 1942 at Rinard, Illinois to Clarence Aden and Mary (Hale) Spitzner. He married Wanda Earlene Rankin December 17, 1983, at Fairfield, Illinois and she survives.

      Melvin attended the Blue Point Free Will Baptist Church and was a member of the Flora Moose Lodge and the Flora American Legion. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He was a farmer and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and always put out a wonderful garden.

      Melvin is survived by his wife Earlene Spitzner of Cisne, Illinois; one son Harold Lee Spitzner of Mayfield, Kentucky; a step-son Jody Sarks of Fairfield, Illinois; two sisters Joan (Bill) Pearce and Betty (Rex) Brown both of Flora, Illinois; three brothers John (Mary) Spitzner and Bill Spitzner both of Flora, Illinois and Mike (Connie) Spitzner of Clay City, Illinois. One grandchild Harold Dean Spitzner and one great grandchild Lastat Spitzner also survive.

      Preceding him in death were his parents, a daughter Sherry Kay Spitzner, a brother Charles Everett Spitzner and a sister-in-law Cheyanne Spitzner.

      A memorial service will be held at a later date.

      Memorials may be given to the Blue Point Free Will Baptist Church and will be accepted at Hosselton-Meridith Funeral Home.
