      Mary Dukryn, 94, of Highland, IL, died Wednesday, August 19, 2020, at Faith Countryside Homes, Highland, IL.

      Mary was born July 30, 1926, to Wasyl and Anna Dukryn in Pittsburgh, PA.

      Mary was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. She was the caretaker of the family. A devout Ukranian Orthodox Catholic, she spent a lot of time around St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Pittsburgh. Mary liked to cook and bake and she always enjoyed feeding the birds in her backyard. After living 85 years on the south side of Pittsburgh, she moved to Faith Countryside Homes in Highland, to be closer to her niece and nephew, and their families. Mary enjoyed the peace and quiet of the small town, country setting.

      Mary is survived by her niece and nephew, Beth (Jimmy) Tempus, Alhambra, IL and Ken (Ellen) Baer, Downers Grove, IL.; great nieces and nephews, Timothy, Hannah, Franklin, Phillip, Violet & Lucy.

      She is preceded in death by her parents, Wasyl and Anna Dukryn; brothers and sisters, Katherine Dukryn Sviezikas, Peter Dukryn, Mildred Dukryn, Michael Dukryn, John Dukryn and Anna Dukryn Baer.

      Memorials may be made to the Donor’s choice.

      Mary will be taken back to Pittsburgh, PA for burial at St. John the Baptist Cemetery.

      Mary was a wonderful Catholic person that I had the pleasure of meeting at Faith Countryside. May she rest in peace.
