Mary C. “Cookie Lady” Reibold, 72, of Lebanon, IL, died Saturday, November 19, 2016, at Memorial Hospital East, Shiloh, IL, with her family by her side.
Mary was born June 14, 1944, to Alphonse and Virginia (Nee Lange) Frueke, in Breese, IL. On April 27, 1963, she married William Reibold at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lebanon, IL.
Bill and Mary met in high school at age 15 and were high school sweethearts. They married and started a family. She worked at AT&T until she had children. Then, she did babysitting in her home so she could be home with her boys. She worked at H.E.L.P. for Mom pre-school and daycare after her boys were grown and recently at the Lebanon DQ decorating cakes. She called it her “fun” job, and loved it. Mary loved baking and crocheting and many people near and far were recipients of her baked goods. She loved to give people a plate of cookies or a crocheted article just to see them smile. Mary made all her children and grandchildren afghans and always their favorite cookies. Her greatest joy was her family. She loved the holidays and she would do anything she could to make them happy. Mary had many friends and loved getting together with them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alphonse and Virginia Frueke; brother, Richard Frueke, and several nieces and nephews.
Mary is survived by her husband of 53 years, Bill Reibold, Lebanon, IL; her sons, Randy (Linda) Reibold, Trenton, IL, Rodney (Laura) Reibold, Findlay, OH; grandchildren, Bradley (special friend, Brenna Borawski) Reibold, Belleville, IL, Ryan (special friend, Shelbe Hostmeyer) Reibold, Lebanon, IL, Andy (Amanda) Reibold, St. Charles, MO, Alex Reibold, Columbus, OH, Kayla Reibold, Findlay, OH, her sisters, Barbara (Ronald) Copeland, Wellsville, MO, Cindy (Ron) Mietzner, Effingham, IL, and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Clinton County Relay for Life, Lebanon Food Pantry, St. Paul United Church of Christ – Organ Fund.
