Marlena ‘Susy’ Krutsinger, 62, of Bluford, Illinois passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.Susy was born October 12, 1958, at McLeansboro, Illinois to Edward Dale and Correna (Rich) Smith. She married Terry Krutsinger October 3, 1987, at Blue Point Free Will Baptist Church.
Susy retired September 2016 as a Teacher’s Aide for Bluford Grade School. Prior to working at school, she worked as a Legal Secretary for Craig and Craig Law Firm in Mattoon, Illinois. Susy was a member of Ellis Mound Missionary Baptist Church near Wayne City, Illinois over fifty years.
Most will remember her fondness for collecting owls. She loved doing crafts, playing board games, and teaching children at VBS and in Sunday School. Everyone who knew her understood how much she enjoyed and loved spending time with her family.
Susy is survived by her mother Correna Smith of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; her husband Terry Krutsinger of Bluford, Illinois; one daughter Kathy (Ryne) Fullerton of Albion, Illinois; a son Jesse (Brenda) Krutsinger of Johnston City, Illinois; four brothers Michael Dale (Sheila) Smith of Woodlawn, Illinois, Mark Edward (Renee) Smith of Olney, Illinois, Monty Joe (Denise) Smith of Fairfield, Illinois, and Marty Lyn Smith of Cisne, Illinois. Also surviving are three grandchildren Norah Fullerton, Leo Fullerton, and Hudson Fullerton.
Preceding her in death were her father Edward Dale Smith, one brother William Murry Smith, and one granddaughter Hope Elizabeth Fullerton.
