Marie Lorraine Savage, nee Swofford, 91, died at Heartland Manor Nursing Center, Casey, IL. She was born January 25, 1918 in Pocahontas, IL to Wiliam and Stella (Zweck) Swofford, Sr. They preceded her in death. On October 27, 1946 she married Marion Ferris Savage. He preceded her in death in 2002 after 56 years of marriage.
Survived by one daughter, Judy Kay (Robert) Ehlke, Casey, IL and two granddaughters - Kira (Kenneth) Goble of Nixa, MO and Kay (Andrew) Simms of Lewisville, TX; two brothers - William (Joan) Swofford, Jr and Robert (Donna) Swofford of Pocahontas, IL; Nieces Karen (James) Spawr, Decatur, IL; Sue (Randy) Keeling, Pocahontas, IL Kay (Gary) Walker, Pocahontas, IL; Barbara Kapp of Highland, IL; Kim Willman, Pocahontas, IL and nephews Dale (Patricia) Peck, Heartland, Wi, David (Joyce) Swofford, Greenville, IL
Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister - Lucille Peck, and nephew Thomas Swofford.
Her family was her pride and joy and she will be greatly missed.
A Memorial Service to honor her life will be held Saturday, May 16, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Meridith Funeral Home, P.C. 100 Moreland, Pocahontas, IL. A private family committal service was held Monday, April 20, 2009 at the Robinson Cemetery, Pocahontas, IL with Rev. David Trover, Pastor, First United Methodist Church, Pocahontas, IL.
