    Marie H. (Stueber) Shaw, 96, of rural Greenville, IL died Wednesday, October 05, 2011 at Barnes Hospital, St. Louis, MO.

    She was born March 16, 1915 to George and Pearl H. (Kreutel) Stueber in Highland, IL.  She attended Highland High School and married Earl E. Shaw on June 13, 1934 in Highland.  She lived on their farm in Mills and Burgess Townships for 77 years where she loved to garden and cook meals for extended family and friends.  She worked at Bourgeois Nursing Home in Greenville and then in housekeeping at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Highland, retiring in 1985.  She enjoyed being in the Joy Singers, doing word puzzles, and making ceramics.  She was a past Worthy Matron of the Marigold Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star and Noble Grand of the Rebeccas.  She was confirmed in youth with the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland where she attended her entire life.

    She is survived by 51 descendants including 3 children, Marge (Max) Clements, Carlyle, IL, George (Shirley) Shaw, rural Greenville, IL, Judy (Ken) Lockwood, Chesterfield, MO; 7 grandchildren, Vanessa (Brad) Michael, Grantfork, IL, Kevin W. (Judy) Cordes, Newton, AL, Tammy (Dale) Siever, Chandler, AZ, Laurie (Mark) Plocher, Highland, IL, G. Mark (Christine) Shaw, rural Greenville, IL, Patrick (Melody) Clements, Carlyle, IL, and Brian Taylor, Calabasas, CA; 2 step grandchildren, Lisa (Ron) Redell, Spokje, Macedonia, and Niki (Jeremy) Lewis, College Station, TX; 23 great grandchildren, Chris (Cheryl) Michael, Grantfork, IL, Chad (Andrea) Michael, Chicago, IL, Dr. Brent Michael, Los Angeles, CA, Gaylen (Amy) Michael, Grantfork, IL, Kevin D. (Allison) Cordes,  Edwards, CA, Tabitha (Stephen) Burgess, Newton, AL, Jackie Cordes, Enterprise, AL, Lacey Cordes, Atlanta, GA, twins, Jackson Cordes and Jillian Cordes, Newton, AL, Jason (Stephanie) Siever, Seattle, WA, Kirsten Siever, Chandler, AZ, Braiden Siever, Chandler, AZ, Heather (Kyle) Linenfelser, Edwardsville, IL, Rachel (Adam) Petersen, San Diego, CA, Garrett Plocher, Portland, OR, Alex Plocher, Highland, IL, Lillie Shaw, Greenville, IL, Daniel Shaw, Greenville, IL, Ethan Clements, Carlyle, IL, Gabriel Clements, Carlyle, IL, Clayton Taylor, Calabasas, CA, Gabrielle Taylor, Calabasas, CA; 5 step great grandchildren, and eighteen great great grandchildren.  For all of these she always sent birthday cards and bought Christmas presents.  She is also survived by 14 nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Pearl Stueber, her husband, Earl E. Shaw on May 13, 1957, one sister, Helen Woll, three brothers, Adolph, Gilbert, and Bernell Stueber, one grandson, Martin E. Shaw, and seventeen nieces and nephews.

    Memorials may be made to the Highland Evangelical United Church of Christ Radio Broadcast.

    Visitation:  Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Meridith Funeral Home, Pocahontas, IL.

    Funeral:  Sunday, October 9, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland, Senior Pastor, Chris Hill, officiating.

    Interment:  Highland City Cemetery, Highland, IL
