Marian Ida Schobert, 93, of Lebanon, IL, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at HSHS St Elizabeth’s Hospital, in O'Fallon IL.
Marian was born on May 5, 1930, in Belleville, IL, to Elsa (nee Adler) and Walter Ogle. On April 11, 1953, she married Melvin Glauber, and they had 7 children. After Melvin passed on May 9, 1982, she married Adam “Bill” Schobert on November 7, 1987.
Marian was a devoted wife and mother. She was trained at St. John’s Mercy Hospital as a Registered Nurse, working for HSHS St Elizabeth's Hospital and several nursing homes for 45 years until she retired. She loved to travel and enjoyed antiquing. Marian was a member of Cathedral Catholic Church while she lived in Belleville, IL and then St Joseph’s Catholic Church when she moved to Lebanon, IL.
She is survived by her children, Steven (Lynn) Glauber, Hillsboro, MO, Walter (Vicki Straeter) Glauber, O'Fallon, IL, Jim (Mary Pat) Glauber, St. Louis, MO, Jean (Jeff) Hunsaker, Bridgeton, MO, Joan (John) Ross, Collinsville, IL; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elsa and Walter Ogle; husband, Melvin Glauber; husband, Adam (Bill) Schobert; son, Thomas Charles Glauber; and sister, Elsa Cook.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Carmelite Sisters of the Divine Heart of Jesus, in St. Louis, MO.
