Margaret Alice Cowles, 89, died on March 9, 2024 surrounded by her loved ones in Grayville, Illinois.
Margaret was born on April 28, 1934 in East Prairie, Missouri to Bill and Fannie Mae Whitlock. She married Gilbert Cowles on March 1, 1952 and they enjoyed many years together until his death in 2003.
Margaret enjoyed life and liked to play bingo, play at the casino, and going on car rides. She collected angels, and most of all, she loved and enjoyed her family.
Margaret is survived by her three children, Beverly Renfro, Alan Cowles, and Bradley (Twila) Cowles; seven grandchildren, Brandy, Brooke, Dusty, Jessica, Skyler, Alex and Amy. She also has eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Sue Brines.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Gilbert; their sons Larry, Terry and Donald Ray Cowles; her parents Johnny and Dorothy Whitlock; two brothers, Billy Joe Whitlock and Herman Hudson and one great grandson, Dylan.
Visitation for Margaret Cowles will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Ingram-Meridith Funeral Home in Albion, Illinois. Graveside service to follow at 2:00 PM, at the Bone Gap Cemetery in Bone Gap, Illinois. All family and friends are welcome to come remember Margaret. Casual dress is requested by those attending her services.
