The family of Madella Burk, nee Schaefer, 92, was deeply saddened at her passing February 1, 2008 at the Lebanon Care Center in Lebanon, IL. Mrs. Burk was married to Edgar "Bud" Burk for 62 years and he passed away December 12, 1995. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, Lebanon, IL.
Mrs. Burk was preceded in death by her husband, her father, Erwin Schaefer, Mother, Rose (Bergheger) Schaefer, and brothers Clarence and Allen Schaefer.
Surviving are her two sons, Terry Burk of New York City, NY and Dean Burk of Highland, IL; three daughters, Patricia (Lowell) Burger of Lebanon, IL; Jeanne (Carl) Weiss of Highland, IL and Joan (Ronald) Christ of Lebanon, IL: 19 grandchildren, Steven (Cathy) Weiss; Todd (Pam) Weiss; Tara Weiss; Stephanie (Steve) Price; Chad Weiss; Deborah (Barry) Copelin; Lowell (Shirley) Burger, Jr; James (Teresa) Burger; William (Karla) Burger, Stephen (Heather) Burger; Jeffrey (Karen) Christ; Terrence (LaDonna) Christ; Lisa (Jim) Pier; Scott (Karen) Christ; Susan (Cole) Gaebe; Dean Michael (Jennifer) Burk, Jr; Matthew (Tina) Burk; Jonathan (Veronica) Burk and Dr. Casie (Dr. Tim Jones) Burk; 47 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; brother-in-law Harold Burk of Panama City, FL; sister-in-law Gladys Burk of Waterloo, IL and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Monday, February 4, 2008 from 9:00 - 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Church, Lebanon, IL.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, February 4, 2008 @ 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Church, Lebanon, IL.
Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery, Lebanon, IL.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph church or for Masses.
