Lucille Scheurer (nee Poos), 82, of Trenton, IL, died Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Aviston Countryside Manor, Aviston, IL.
She was born August 22, 1929, to Jacob and Ida Marie (nee Ambry) Poos, in O’Fallon, IL. On August 2, 1957, she married Delmer P. Scheurer at Caseyville United Methodist Church, Caseyville, IL.
In her early years, she worked at Armour Packing Co., Billing Department, E. St. Louis, IL, then to Rudolph and Hubert Coal Co., E. St. Louis, IL, and 4 years at Scott Air Force Base, officer’s payroll, civil service. After 12 years she became a homemaker and helped out on the farm.
Lucille was a member of 1st United Methodist Church, Lebanon, IL, Clinton County Homemakers, St. Clair County Homemakers and Shiloh Valley Grange. She had also been a member of Caseyville United Methodist Church, O’Fallon Assembly of God Church, St. Matthews United Methodist Church, and had sung in the choir at St. Matthews and Lebanon 1st United Methodist Church. She was also involved in several Bible study classes.
She is survived by her husband, Delmer Scheurer, Trenton, IL; 3 children, Robert (LaDean) Scheurer, Troy, IL, Mary (Eric) Mueth, Mascoutah, IL, Cheryl (Allen) Lanter, Mascoutah, IL; 7 grandchildren, Rachael (Martin) Lautenschlaeger, Erin (special friend, Zach Rasch) Mueth, Philip Mueth, Kathryn “Kay Kay” Scheurer, Christian P. Scheurer, Melissa Lanter, Christina Lanter; 1 great-grandson, Michael Lautenschlaeger.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Ida Poos.

Visitation: Sunday, April 22, 2012, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Meyer Funeral Home, Lebanon, IL, and Monday, April 23, 2012, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at 1st United Methodist Church, Lebanon, IL.
Funeral: Monday, April 23, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at 1st United Methodist Church.
