    Louise C. Ribbing, 82, of Highland, IL, died Thursday, April 25, 2013, at Relais Bonne Eau, Hospice of Southern Illinois, Edwardsville, IL.

    Louise was born May 29, 1930, to Herman and Antonia (Nee Ungrund) Drees, in Highland, IL.  On May 5, 1953, she married Ralph A. Ribbing at St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL.

    She attended St. Paul grade and high schools, graduating in 1948.  She started working at General Telephone Co. in her junior year of high school and continued working there until 1965, for a total of 15 years, when the dialing system came into effect.  She later worked for Kayser Drug Pharmacy, until Mr. Kayser sold the business, then to Family Care Pharmacy as a sales clerk then promoted to Pharmacy Technician retiring in 1998.  She was a huge St. Louis Cardinal fan and an avid Word Find “junkie”.  She loved hangin’ with her grandkids.

    She is survived by her 3 children, Sandra M. (Jeff) Frey, Highland, IL, Randall L. (Julie) Ribbing, The Woodlands, TX, Steven J. (Becky) Ribbing, Highland, IL; 7 grandchildren, Jason K. (Jessica) Frey, Christopher D. (Stevie) Frey, Kelly K. (Todd) Dempsey, Kyle L. (Britney) Ribbing, Kelsey K. Ribbing, Melissa R. (Joshua) Missey, Jessica N. Armbruster; 7 great-grandchildren, Landon and Madeline Dempsey, Aubree and Mollie Ribbing, Grady and Colton Frey, Jackson Frey; 3 sisters, Mildred Snee, Rita Schrage, Leona (Ronnie) Moss; many nieces and nephews and cousins.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Antonia Drees; her husband, Ralph A. Ribbing; 3 sisters, Helen Drees, Cecilia Ciezadt, Joann Ryndak; 1 brother, Victor Drees.

    Memorials may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church or Hospice of Southern Illinois – Relais Bonne Eau.

    Visitation: Monday, April 29, 2013, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm and Tuesday, April 30, 2013 from 8:00 to 9:30 am at Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, IL.

    Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 10:00 am at St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL.

    Clergy: Rev. Fr. Charles A. Edwards, Pastor.

    Interment: St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery
