      Loretta P Buckles, 85, of West Salem, IL passed away on Saturday November 11, 2023 in Olney, IL.

      She was born April 18, 1938 in West Salem, IL to Wallace Swartzbaugh and Jane (Wells) Davis.  Loretta married Clyde Buckles on November 19, 1955 at the Methodist Church of West Salem.

      Loretta loved gardening, mowing, being outdoors, cooking, baking, and being a farm wife.  She had a green thumb and a pleasant personality.

      She was preceded in death by two sets of parents, her husband Clyde, and two half-brothers.

      Loretta is survived by her children; Wanda Greifzu (Tom Bosecker), Dave (Norma) Buckles, and Phil (Doris) Buckles; 8 Grandchildren, Ryan (Jordyn) Greifzu, Rachel Greifzu, Whitney (Greg) VanWinkle, Andrew (Annie) Buckles, Bryce (Whitney) Buckles, Kendra (Brad) Sturgill, Abby (Austin) Buckner, and Haley McConnell; 14 Great-Grandchildren, Josie, Henleigh, Miles, Max, Rylan, Caleb, Chase, Harlow, Bryttni, Ramsey, Jaxson, Piper, Braxton, and Hendrix, and many nieces and nephews.

      Funeral services:  Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ingram Meridith Funeral Home, West Salem, IL.

      Interment:  Marion Cemetery.

      Memorials for Loretta can be made to the Marion Church Cemetery.

      I’ll have fond memories of visiting Aunt Loretta. She was moms best friend. There’s not many people that I can distinctly remember their mannerisms and voice so clearly, but her “Oh Dear Lord” will stick with me forever, not to mention her Goulash which I have travelled far for.
      RIP Aunt Loretta and say hello to mom for me.
