- Full Obituary
Lorene E. McCraw (Nee Brodbeck), 77, of Lebanon, IL, died Sunday, May 29, 2016, at her daughter’s house, with her family by her side.
She was born July 24, 1938, to Egon and Sophia (Nee Petch) Brodbeck in Fredericksburg, TX. On December 28, 1957 she married Boyce M. “Mac” McCraw, in Port Acres, TX.
In her long life Lorene lived in five states as a military spouse, homemaker and seamstress. She developed passions for cooking, gardening, and sewing clothes and costumes for her grandchildren. She had a green thumb that seemed capable of reviving any flower or plant that came her way. Lorene's many friendships were strong and usually noisy, especially her Red Hat friends.
Lorene's life ended peacefully as she had lived; confident in her salvation through Jesus Christ, deeply in love with her husband of 58 years, and warmed by the blessings of her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Egon and Sophia Brodbeck.
Lorene is survived by her husband, Mac McCraw, Lebanon, IL; children, Howard Walter McCraw,II, Lebanon, IL, Samuel (Beth) McCraw, Albuquerque, NM, LaDonna (Terry) Christ, Belleville, IL, Gayle L. McCraw, Belleville, IL; grandchildren, Randi Christ, Austin Christ, Anna McCraw, Tobi McCraw; brother, Alfons (Leola) Brodbeck, Fredericksburg, TX; sister, Ann Marie (Roy) Beasley, Llano, TX; several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Tower View Baptist Church, Shiloh or American Cancer Society.
