Linus V. “Bob” Streif, 78, of Lebanon, IL, died Thursday, July 17, 2014, at his residence, with his family by his side.
Bob was born December 17, 1935, to Leto and Myrtle (Nee Freidrich) Streif, in Highland, IL. On April 11, 1959, he married Johanna Votrain, in Lebanon, IL.
Bob was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lebanon, IL. He was a farmer and owned the City Market in Lebanon, IL. He was the butcher and was known for his pork sausage.
He is survived by his wife, Johanna Streif, Lebanon, IL; 3 children, Brian (Brenda) Streif, Louisville, IL, Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Streif, Oakville, MO, Dalinda Lewis, Lebanon, IL; 7 grandchildren, Shannon, Victoria, Jennifer Streif, Ashton (significant other, Dustin Syas) Streif, Brandon, Sierra, Chase Lewis; 1 great-grandchild, Eli; 2 sisters, Lillian Munie, Elizabeth Reitz; 1 brother, William “Bill” (Glenna) Streif; 2 sisters-in-law, RuthAnn Streif, Judy Streif; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leto and Myrtle Streif; brothers, Leon, Butch, Edward Streif, Fredrick Streif, (twin) in infancy; 1 sister, Charlene Streif, (twin) in infancy.
