Leonard S. “Lenny” Budwell, 50, of Troy, IL, passed away, Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at his residence.

Lenny was born December 25, 1971, to Lawrence and Mary Ann (nee Bradley) Budwell, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, in Belleville, IL. Lenny lived in the Troy area his whole life, eventually meeting Trina Martin. Partners for over 20 years; she meant the world to him. In 1997 he was blessed with the birth of his son, Daniel.

He worked as a Sales Rep for ADT Security Systems for many years. He was funny, outgoing, known to be a jokester, and had a contagious smile. Lenny loved to spend time with his family and friends and was known to be the life of the party. He also enjoyed coaching his son’s baseball teams when he was younger. He adored his dog Carlie and was known to say she was “the best-looking dog in the family”. Lenny loved to sing karaoke, anytime or anywhere; often making it a family affair, singing with Daniel. The song “Chicken Fried” by the Zac Brown Band, was his overall favorite tune to sing. One of his other favorite past times was riding his motorcycle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Mary Ann Budwell; and brother, Dennis Wayne Budwell.

Lenny is survived by his life partner, Trina Martin; son, Daniel (Clara Eckert) Budwell; brothers, Lawrence “Turk” (Shirley) Budwell, Robert “Bob’ (Cheryl) Budwell, Steve (Cindy) Budwell, Dave (Rose) Budwell, Barry (Jamie) Budwell, Gary (Tonya) Budwell; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and loving friends.

It’s hard to imagine not having Lenny around, not ever seeing that grin and wink when he was up to something. He was always there when Turk played music. Of course all the holidays will not be the same. Never seeing him again is so hard. Daniel, Trina and everyone that loved him, my heart just aches for you. He was loved more than he ever realized. Lenny, I pray that you are at peace now.😢

I can’t recall in my life that I ever met a person whose smile lit up his face and gave you a “welcome” feeling more than Lenny. He could always persuade me to get just another quart of ice cream. I saw him just two weeks ago, and that same welcoming smile was all over his face. Peace be with you Lenny as you journey on. My prayers to his family for them to have strength and know many support them and care for them.
