Lela Wagner, 88, of Alhambra, IL., born Nov. 26, 1920, in Highland, IL., died on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, at the Hitz Home in Alhambra, IL.
Lela worked for Southwestern Bell for 44 years. She was an ardent Cardinals baseball fan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Reinhardt and Matilda, nee Hoffman, Wagner; three sisters, Marie Wagner, Betty Jakel, Ruth Foehner; and two brothers, Burnell Wagner, and Robert Wagner.
Surviving are her sister, Bernice Schnoor of Costa Mesa, CA.; brother-in-law, Vincent Jakel of Highland, IL.; many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Hitz Home in Alhambra, IL.
Visitation: Friends may call from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009, at Meridith Funeral Home in Highland, IL.
Funeral: Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009, at the funeral home with the Rev. Charles A. Edwards, pastor of St. Paul Church in Highland, officiating.
Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Highland, IL.
