    Leander G. “Hank” Weber, 91, of Greenville, IL, formerly of Pocahontas, IL, died Friday, January 14, 2011, at Greenville Regional Hospital, Greenville, IL.

    He was born May 7, 1919, to Joseph and Regina (nee Rolfingsmeier) Weber, in Breese, IL.  On August 11, 1945, he married Elizabeth Helen Kalous in Pocahontas, IL.

    Hank was a member of St. Nicholas Church, Pocahontas, IL, and the Teamsters Union.  He was a Truck Driver and had worked for Cassens Truck Co. in Fenton, MO for 30 years, hauling cars.  He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, in the Europian Theatre.  He was a member of the 101 Airborne division and parachuted into France on D-Day.  Soon after that he became a POW.

    Hank is survived by: 4 Children, Terry (Linda) Weber, Summerfield, IL, Michael (Beverly) Weber, Greenville, IL, Glen (Sandy Holzhauer) Weber, Pocahontas, IL, Diane Wells, Cowden, IL; 8 Grandchildren; 11 Great-Grandchildren; Nieces and Nephews.

    Hank was preceded in death by: His Parents, Joseph and Regina Weber, His Wife, Elizabeth Helen Kalous; 2 Brothers, Joseph Weber, Melvin Weber; 1 Sister, Margaret Adams.

    Memorials may be made to St. Nicholas Church or Bond County Hospice.

    Visitation:  Tuesday, January 18, 2011, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, January 19, 2011, from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Meridith Funeral Home, Pocahontas, IL.

    Funeral: Wednesday, January 19, 2011 11:00 a.m. at Meridith Funeral Home, Pocahontas, IL.

    Clergy: Rev. Carlos Bohorquez, Pastor, St. Nicholas Church, Pocahontas, IL.

    Interment: Robinson Cemetery, Pocahontas, IL, with full Military Honors.
