    • Full Obituary

Larry Lawrence Kauble, 80 of Cisne, IL. passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023, at his residence.

Larry was born on April 16, 1943, in Clay City, IL, to Lawrence and Lucille (Wyatt) Kauble. He married Sharon Dietz at his parents’ house on July 11, 1970, and she survives.

Larry worked for several years at Snap on Tools. He also was a farmer, raised livestock and had worked for Ivan Jones in the oil field. He was very active in the Wayne County Fair, helping the 4-H kids with their livestock projects. He was a very dedicated member of the Fairfield Coin Club since 2008, he served as Vice President for eleven years. He was also a member of the Fairfield American Legion and Fairfield Elks Club. Larry also served in the United States Navy.

One of his past times was going to Lewis’s Scrap Metal in Burnt Prairie to find a treasure and recycling it into something he could use. He always enjoyed his trips to Canada. He would always say I do not know how much hunting or fishing we will do, but it was always up in the air as to whom would tell the biggest story. Larry was quite a joke teller and incredibly good at it. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Larry is survived by his wife Sharon; one daughter Melissa (Bobby) Risley of Olney, IL, a son Ashley Kauble of Olney, IL; and one brother Loren (Dorothy) Kauble of Clay City, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Lana Harrison and Linda Harbaugh.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations may be given to Fairfield Coin Club for their Scholarship program. Donations will be accepted at the funeral home.

I have known Larry my whole life. I am the daughter of Bob Reed. I knew Larry as “Uncle Larry”. My family has always been involved with the Elm River Chowder and I think that is where I remember meeting Larry. He was always happy to see everyone and say hello and give a hug. He was a happy soul and will be missed. My sympathies to the family.
