  • Full Obituary

Larry Junior Henton, 72, of Bone Gap, IL, passed from this life to the next at his home on January 5, 2020 and is now free from pain and cancer.

He was born June 16, 1947 in Bone Gap, the son of Betty Jo (Xanders) and Junior Richard Henton. He married Marilyn Clodfelter on March 16, 1966 in Bone Gap and she survives.

Larry worked at Champ and had retired after 47 years of employment. He dearly loved his family, and his grands and great-grands were his bright spots. He enjoyed mowing and yard work. He loved to drive his truck and “go” was his middle name! Larry was much like his grandpa, John Henton, in that he never met a stranger. He loved to visit with family, friends, and strangers! He enjoyed joking, teasing, and watching people and was proud to have achieved his “Senior Discount” status. Larry attended the Albion Free Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marilyn of Bone Gap; a daughter, Tonia (Tony) Hickenbottom of Grayville; a son, Larry “Ed” Henton and special friend Craig Rudy of Belleville, IL; a brother, Leonard Thomas “Tom” (Belinda) Henton of Olney, IL; six grandchildren: Johnathan (Becky) Henton, Brandie (Daniel) Knight, Peri Henton, Chelsie (Robert) Manion, Casie (Jared) Goodman, and Brynn (Bob) Thompson; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gary.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 10, 2020 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ingram-Meridith Funeral Home in Albion, IL. The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 11 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with entombment to follow at the Bone Gap Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Home of the Innocents, Rainforest Wing. Envelopes will be available at the service.

Online condolences may be left for the family at www.meridithfuneralhome.com.

Ingram-Meridith Funeral Home of Albion is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Larry truly never met a stranger! He will be so missed in our community! So happy I was able to get to know Larry while Adyson and Carson were students at Little Prairie Preschool! He loved to tease Mary Ruth and I and visit with us when dropping off or picking up the kids. NO one LOVED their great-grandkids as much as Larry Henton!! You all were so blessed to have him in your family. Hold tight to your memories! Your in my prayers.
