    Larry Franklin Banks, age 68 of Foley, Alabama (formerly of Mt. Carmel, Illinois) passed from this life to the next early on the morning of Friday, September 27, 2019 at the South Baldwin Regional Medical Center.
    Larry was born in Princeton, Indiana on December 12, 1950 to Albert F. and Ruth L. (Mayhall) Banks.
    He was a Veteran who served his country in the US Marine Corps for a total of seven years.
    He married DiAnna Gaddy on December 11, 1982 in Dundas, Illinois. Larry and DiAnna enjoyed almost thirty-seven years of a wonderful marriage partnership.
    He was a hard worker and for several years was employed in the old fields and was also a truck driver; working most recently before his retirement for Schneider Trucking Company.
    Larry enjoyed activities from working in the yard to working puzzles. He never met a stranger and could always engage even the most shy person in a lively conversation. His greatest enjoyment was being with his close friends and his family.
    Those family members who will miss him greatly include: his father, Albert F. Banks, his wife, DiAnna Banks, daughters: Dannette L. Lewis, Annette L. Fortner and Christina K. Hicks, sons: Aaron B. Banks and Thomas Lewis, Sr. Larry will also be missed by his sister, Regina Lear and five grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth L. Banks and two grandchildren, Erica Hicks and Devon Hicks; whom he has reunited with once again.
    A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019 from 10AM to 11AM at the Ingram-Meridith Funeral Home in Allendale, IL.
    At 11AM, Pastor Stephen Freels will speak briefly at the funeral home and then give concluding remarks at the committal service, which will take place at the Zion United Methodist Cemetery.
    The cemetery is located two miles west and one-half mile south of the Billet, Illinois road which is just off Route 1.
    Military Rites will be given at the graveside committal.
